Hiring Grant · Mid-Career Pathways

Try an experienced 40+ hire — with up to 70% of the attachment funded

The Mid-Career Pathways Programme (MCP) lets you take on a mature professional for a structured 4–6 month attachment while the government co-funds most of their allowance — then hire them if it works out. It’s try-before-you-commit for experienced talent. We find the person and handle the application.

How it works

Meet the person before you make it permanent

Some of the best hires are experienced people moving into something new — but a CV can’t always prove the fit, and committing to a permanent hire feels like a leap. MCP removes that risk. You take the person on a structured 4–6 month attachment, the government co-funds most of their allowance, and you both find out whether it works before anyone signs a permanent contract.

Our part is the hard half: we find you a capable mid-career professional worth the attachment, and help put together the development plan and application so it goes through cleanly. If it works out — and it usually does when the match is right — you hire them permanently.

Why JTE

A grant portal can’t find you the person.
We bring you the hire — you try before you commit.

The government funds the attachment, but it doesn’t hand you a candidate. That’s the hard part, and it’s ours. We source and vet an experienced 40+ professional worth attaching, help you structure the development plan, and handle the application — so the only thing you focus on is whether they’re the right hire.

Common questions

MCP, answered plainly

How much of the allowance does MCP fund?

The government co-funds up to 70% of the trainee’s monthly attachment allowance, which can be up to $3,800/month. You cover the remaining 30% during the 4–6 month attachment.

Do I have to hire the person after the attachment?+

Yes — MCP is designed as try-before-you-hire. If the individual’s training and performance are satisfactory during the attachment, you’re expected to hire them on a permanent basis. That’s the point of the programme.

Who is eligible?+

The individual must be a Singapore Citizen or PR aged 40 and above. Your company must be legally registered in Singapore and able to offer a structured 4–6 month attachment with a development plan.

How is MCP different from CCP?+

With CCP you hire the person first, then reskill them with salary support. With MCP you take them on a funded attachment to try them out, and hire after if it works. MCP suits experienced 40+ talent and a try-before-you-commit approach.

What does it cost to work with JTE on this?+

We source and vet the mature candidate and help with the application. Recruiting works on a success-fee basis, agreed clearly upfront, and the MCP co-funding offsets a large part of the attachment allowance. See all hiring grants.
